John Singer Sargent: Portraits of the 1890s, The Complete Paintings: Volume II, by Richard Ormond and Elaine Kilmurray in collaboration with Warren Adelson and Elizabeth Oustinoff, was published in 2002 by Yale University Press, New Haven and London.
This second volume of the catalogue raisonné documents the rise of Sargent’s career in portraiture during the 1890s. With over 150 color illustrations of both formal and informal portraits, the works are catalogued chronologically and include biographical information about the sitter, detailed provenance history, as well as discussion on costume, studio props and accessories. |
